About

Randomly generated paths of the animated sprite create always different drawings on your computer desktop. Simple 2D animation is used to create nice graphic effects on your computer display.
This animated screen saver is self-adjustable to every screen resolution and display aspect ratio.
Probably it is most similar to 3D Pipes screen saver that Microsoft® Corp. has introduced with Windows 95 and included in all later Windows operative systems. If you like 3D Pipes screen saver, you are recommended to try Run and Draw ScreenSaver. People that like fractals enjoy this screen saver, too.

Settings

Run and Draw Screensaver comes with background sound included. You can enable or disable the sound.
Also, you can set custom folder with your favorite music. Three standard formats: *.wav, *.mid, *.mp3 are supported as the most often used. Run and Draw Screensaver plays one after another: all *.wav files, firstly - all *.mid, after that - and finally: all *.mp3 files.

You can adjust the speed of this animated screensaver to satisfy your preferences.

Run-Drawing Time is customizable, too. That is a time for creating one single drawing between two successive drawing restarts. The screen saver chooses Run-Drawing Time between minimum and maximum values that are customizable. By default, minimum time is set to be 5 seconds and maximum time is set to be 60 seconds but you can change these settings to any values you want.
If you set the same value for both minimum and maximum Run-Drawing time, than that time value is used.

By default, Run and Draw ScreenSaver chooses randomly one of 14 predefined color nuances with chance 2 out of 3. White color (i.e. no blending) is used with chance 1 out of 3.
However, you have unlimited possibility to set blending color by using Windows Color palette (4.3x10exp9 of possible nuances). Color intensity can be in a wide range from strong to subtle (recommended) nuances, as your prefer.

At any time you can restore default settings. There is a button in Settings window lower left corner that you might use to reset all Run and Drawing ScreenSaver settings to defaults.

You are highly encouraged to experiment with settings available to meet your aesthetic preferences.

Low processor usage is one of the basic features expected. Run and Draw ScreenSaver has reasonable CPU usage, so it works well even with older Pentium processors.

System Requirements

No special requirements.
Run and Draw Screensaver requires a modern Pentium PC running Windows 2000, XP, Vista, or later.

After installation Run and Draw Screensaver uses about 6.0MB disk space. The program requires at least 65000 colors (high color, 16-bit). It requires at least 800x600 screen resolution. A 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 8.1 or higher with at least 32MB of video memory is required as well as a DirectX 8 compatible sound card. Make sure you have the most recent drivers installed. DirectX 8.1 or higher is required (not included). You can download the newest version of DirectX from the Microsoft® website at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ .

Installing and Uninstalling the Program

To install Run and Draw Screensaver simply run RunDrawScr_Setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions. You can install the software anywhere you like but it is best to follow the default suggestion given. Once installation is completed, in the Start menu you will find a new program group from which you can read the documentation, register screensaver or uninstall it.

You can uninstall Run and Draw Screensaver with left-click on the Uninstall Run and Draw ScreenSaver shortcut that you can find in the Start menu.
