What is Hardware Fingerprint Protection (Hardware Locking)? Hardware Locking allows content creators/distributors to prevent their programs from being used on any computer besides the one(s) that have licenses. Program protected by Hardware Locking analyzes the licensed user´s computer and generates a number to describe it based on some or all of the following parameters: CPU Information BIOS Information NetBIOS Name DOS HD Serial Number Hard Drive Size/Geometry S.M.A.R.T. Serial Number Network Card MAC Address Size of Physical Memory Dell® Computer Service Tag Random Number U3 Smart Device It assigns the generated number to that computer.
